1959 Volkswagen Bus — 11-Window Kombi Deluxe

A rare Brazilian-market 11-window Kombi Deluxe. Long after German production moved on from the original T1 platform, Volkswagen do Brasil kept building it — which is why clean, well-preserved split-window-style Buses can still be found in Brazil today. Finding the right one, overseeing its refurbishment, and bringing it into the United States correctly is the difficult part. That is the work we do.

This 1959 Type 2 carries the deluxe-trim details that make the 11-window configuration so sought after: front Safari windows, pop-out side glass, dual mirrors, and a roof rack with a wood-slat ladder — all finished in a period-appropriate two-tone of light gray over dark gray with body-matched bumpers.

The Bus was fully refurbished in Brazil in 2023. That work was not cosmetic only: the 1.2L flat-four and the four-speed transaxle were rebuilt, and the suspension, steering and brakes were addressed at the same time. Overland Imports brought it into the United States in 2024, managing sourcing, importation and documentation end to end. It is offered from our Atlanta headquarters, ready for direct purchase.

For buyers who want a more purposeful driving configuration, we offer a 1776cc dual-carburetor engine and suspension package, installed by our team in Atlanta before delivery: 1776cc dual-carb engine, new bus-specific exhaust, swing-axle rebuilt transaxle configured without reduction boxes, narrowed adjustable front beam, flipped spindles, narrowed tie rods, new lowered shocks at all four corners, and modified rear spring plates. Entirely optional — the Bus is complete and ready to drive as presented.
